Psalm 98

Words: From “The Book of Psalms for Singing” © 1973, Crown and Covenant Publications.

Music: The tune is LYNGHAM which is often used for “O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing”. So if you learn harmonies for Psalm 98 you can also use them with that wonderful hymn.

Harmonies: This psalm / tune lends itself to various options for including harmonies, making it a great way to introduce singing in harmony in gradual steps.

For example: we often sing it in unison (all together for the main tune) but then split into male/female (Soprano/Bass) for the ‘twiddly bit’ on the last line.

A next step would be having (some) men sing Bass for the whole tune.
